On May 7, the General Command of the Polish Armed Forces announced the visit of the First Deputy DDRR general div. pil. Jan Śliwka in Latvia and Estonia. A day earlier, the General Staff of the Polish Army informed about the visit to Estonia of the commander, General Rajmund T. Andrzejczak. They were related to Poland's participation in the international Spring Storm 2019 (Kevadtorm 2019) exercises in the Estonian provinces of East and West Virumaa. The Polish Army represents, among others Marine Missile Unit (MJR) from Siemirowice, equipped with NSM (Naval Strike Missile) anti-ship missiles. This is the first operational deployment of this missile system outside the country.
In addition to the host, soldiers from 12 countries participate in Spring Storm 2019: Belgium, Finland, France, Georgia, Canada, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Great Britain and the USA. Exercises began on April 29, and the polygon phase was scheduled for 2-10 May. In total, it trains about 10,000 soldiers. In the exercises participate m.n. British and German multi-role aircraft Eurofighter Typhoon, British and American AH-64 Apache helicopters, British helicopters on the battlefield AW159 Lynx Wildcat AH.1 and American search and rescue helicopters MH-60G Pave Hawk (British Apache in Estonia, 2019-04- 17).
On May 3 in Riga, I Deputy DDRR met with ORP rocket pilot General Casimir Pulaski (272), carrying out tasks in NATO's Standing Maritime Group One (SNMG1). While staying in the port of Riga, General Plum met with the commander of SNMG1, cadmium. Edward Cashman on board the British missile frigate HMS Westmister (F237) type 23. Then he visited Polish soldiers in Estonia (NATO naval forces in Gdynia, 2019-04-20).
From 5 May in the territorial waters of Estonia, the transport and mine ship ORP Gniezno of the 767 Lublin project participates in a navigation and training cruise with the EML Wambola (M311) trawler of the Lindau / 320 type of the Estonian navy (Eesti Merevägi). On board the Polish unit was a NSM battery, consisting of 6 vehicles, including MLV (Missile Launch Vehicle) missile launchers and command vehicles CCV (Combat Command Vehicle).
MJR sailors, subject to the 3rd Ship Fleet, along with the equipment were disembarked to the shore, where they joined the forces participating in the exercises. The Navy also represents the 8th Coastal Defense Flotilla. In addition, the Air Force is also present in Estonia. Three Su-22M4 / UM3K fighter-bomber planes are stationed at the air base of Ämari (side numbers: 3715, 3201 and 707) from the 21st Tactical Air Base in Świdwin. Airplanes began training flights with allied forces on May 3. The exercises also included units of the Land Forces: 12th Mechanized Division, 1st Aviation Aviation Brigade, 9th Regiment of Reconnaissance and 5th Engineering Regiment.
The participation of the Marine Missile Unit in exercises in Estonia is the first operational deployment of NSM missiles outside of Poland. Earlier, Polish seamen took part in trial rocket shooting in Norway. On 1 June 2016, joint Polish-Norwegian shooting was announced around the Andøya island. It was one of the most important Navy projects in 2016.

BACK OFF, VLAD! Brit tanks join 9,000 Nato troops in dramatic show of force to ward off Putin in Estonia
British forces have joined with their Nato allies to take part in the huge military exercise Spring Storm in Estonia

8th May 2019, 1:43 pm
BRITISH tank troops have joined with Nato forces in a show of strength to Vladimir Putin as they take part in a huge military exercise in Estonia.
Tanks and soldiers have joined allied troops for the annual Spring Storm which involves more than 9,000 troops in a live exercise that carries on until May 17.
Along with the soldiers hundreds of combat vehicles, warships and aircraft are also taking part.
A statement from the Estonian Armed Forces said: “The Spring Storm exercise this year will be held in north-eastern Estonia.
“Nearly 10,000 troops will take part in them, including the military contingents of Great Britain and Belgium from the Nato international battalion stationed in Estonia and the soldiers of the Estonian Defence Forces.”
Eurofighters from the RAF and Germany will also take part along with Polish Su-22 attack aircraft and Wildcat, Apache and Pavehawk helicopters.
Personnel from Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Georgia, Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the USA, Ukraine, Finland, France and Estonia will take part.
The helicopters are station at the Emari airbase near the town of Tapa, which is just 93 miles from the border with Russia.
A Russian military expert has warned that increased military operations close to Russia’s border affects the West’s relationship with the country.
Viktor Murakhovsky, editor-in-chief of Arsenal of the Fatherland, said: “Despite the fact that the number of military men involved in these exercises is relatively low, manoeuvres create military tension on the borders of Russia.
“Moscow is forced to take this into account in its plans for the country’s defence.
“When tanks drive and planes fly near the borders of the Russian Federation, various kinds of incidents can occur.
“Even if they are unintentional, they can still be quite dangerous for the Russian side.”
Estonia’s President Kersti Kaljulaid paid a visit to the allied forces taking part earlier today.
She said the exercise was “proceeding like clockwork”.
The 49-year-old leader is not afraid to take part in some military training herself and took part in a 30km load carry challenge in March, completing the task in four hours and 19 minutes, carrying a 15-kilogram rucksack.
