Mäletan hästi, kui raevukalt meie ÕVägilased veel mõne aasta eest seda Blackhawk-i promosid // tagatreppe kulutasid // kallutatud "kontseptsioone" koostasid // piloote juba koolitasid - no oleks see neil toona läbi läinud, poleks meil täna (ilmselt) ei rautereid ja JAVELINe (loe: poleks üldse maaväepõhist elementaarlahinguvõimet).. Selle asemel oleks aga nimmunämmu missipõhine kopteri(nišši)võimekusIn total, the purchase of 50 Caracals is planned at a cost of around PLN13 billion (USD3.5 billion).
The final programme includes 16 helicopters in a multirole transport configuration; 13 combat search-and-rescue (CSAR) aircraft (six for the navy and seven for the air force); eight anti-submarine warfare (ASW) helicopters; five medical evacuation (medevac) variants; and eight specialised helicopters for 7th Special Operation Squadron (7 EDS), based in Powidz.
The new helicopters will replace Poland's Mil Mi-8/17 'Hip' utility and Mi-14 'Haze' ASW helicopters.
The Caracal had been competing against the Sikorsky S-70i Black Hawk/S-70B Seahawk and the AgustaWestland AW149. Poland was seeking a helicopter capable of carrying 3 tonnes of cargo or 12 fully equipped soldiers, with a 4,000 m service ceiling and a 150 km combat radius.
"The H225M Caracal was the only offer that meets formal requirements and so it was selected for the test phase of the helicopter tender," said Deputy Minister of Defence Czeslaw Mroczek. "In practice it means the company [Airbus Helicopters has] won the tender because it is unlikely that the helicopter won't pass the military tests," he added.
Aga misiganes - paistab, et ka noid teisi koptereid hakatakse tootma ikka sealsamas Poolas:
The Polish H225M helicopters will be manufactured by WZL-1 in Lodz, where there will also be a maintenance centre for all Airbus Helicopters military rotorcraft in Poland.
