Status of the T-34 pulled from a lake in the year of 2000

Militaarmuuseumid, -ekspositsioonid, -kollektsioonid -- kuidas iganes keegi neid nimetada tahab.

Status of the T-34 pulled from a lake in the year of 2000

Postitus Postitas Andreas Lärka »

Gentlemen,

I am lookin for information about the T-34 that Igor Sedunov and the guys in the Otsing Club pulled from an Estonian lake 14 years ago...
I know that they took the tank apart and started to restore it, but was it ever put back together and put on display? I have tried to find info on the internet, but for now I haven't found anything useful.

We here in Finland bought a similar T-34 from the Germans in 1944, but we used is as a hard target after the war, so it is blown to pieces and nowhere to be found. Therefore I would like to come over to Estonia and take pictures of this very tank.

Any help (websites, e-mails, phone-numbers etc.) is appreciated. And sorry for writing in English... Despite having an Estonian wife I still can't speak nor write good enough Eesti keeles.

You can find some information here: http://militaar.elkdata.ee/phpBB2/viewt ... 34697f8564
At least in 2009, it wasn't assembled yet.

Summeri pirisemisel on metsavennal aega hüpata laskepessa ja oodata mis sünnib - kas tegemist on inimese, looma või linnuga, või hoopis UFO-ga kirsavoi saabastes, automaat kaelas. Viimasel juhul kohe tuli peale.

Thanks for the info.

I'll try to get through that thread. 2009 is already 5 years ago, and I find it very strange that the same guys that were able to find the tank, salvage it, start the engine up and then take the tank to pieces, somehow haven't been able to put the pieces back together again... It just doesn't make sense!

I surely hope that the tank is a) still in Estonia and b) put on display soon.
