Berlin to deliver four air defense systems to Ukraine.

German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht confirmed on Monday that Berlin would deliver the first of the four air defense systems to Ukraine within the next couple of days.

"The renewed missile fire on Kyiv and the many other cities show how important it is to supply Ukraine with air defense systems quickly... Russia's attacks with missiles and drones terrorize the civilian population in particular. That is why we are now providing support, especially with air defense weapons," Lambrecht noted.

Ukraine is expected to receive the IRIS-T SLM air defense systems amidst new rocket attacks on Kiev conducted by Russia earlier today.

The President of the Republic met urgently with the President of Ukraine Mr. Volodymyr ZELENSKY following the bombing targeted by Ukraine this morning.

The President of the Republic expressed his extreme concern while the strikes caused civilian casualties. He reaffirmed his full support for President ZELENSKY, and France's commitment to increasing its support for Ukraine in response to Kiev's needs, including military equipment.

The Head of State remains in close contact with President ZELENSKY as well as with his European and G7 partners.

Sakslaste IRIS-T õhutõrjesüsteem väidetavalt kohale jõudnud. Omaette küsimus on, kes opereerib ja kui suurt ala suudetakse katta-25km ca-arvestada vähemalt 10-15km. Eks nendega hakatakse kriitilisemat infrastruktuuri kaitsma-elektrijaamad-tuumajaamad-hüdroelektrijaamade tammid jne. Selles suhtes on vanad vene süsteemid S-300 ja S-400 selgelt eelises. Ja küsimus saab olema ka vajatavate rakettide üsna suures arvus. Siin lastakse 40-50 raketti 2-3 päevaga ära. Selgelt tahab Orkistan ka sellest süsteemist lahti saada, koondades nende suunas suurema hulga rakette. Lõpuks tekibki olukord, et lastakse rohkem, kui tõrjuda suudetakse.

According to Diehl Defense, the IRIS-T SLM is a surface-launched air defense system with an upgraded version of the IRIS-T missile equipping fighter aircraft of numerous countries worldwide. In combination with various radar and command systems, IRIS-T SL offers the capabilities and benefits of an advanced air defense system. An entire IRIS-T SLM system was tested successfully for the first time in 2014 in the presence of international representatives.

The system can launch missiles over a distance of 40 kilometers (25 miles) to take down fighter jets, helicopters or missiles.
