KFOR 3000 mehega istub ju endiselt Kosovos ja endiselt saab vajadusel Itaalia baasidest teha õhurünnakuid.

ELi liikmelisus pole võluvits. Kogu Balkani liitumisel ELiga muutub liit ka ise. Serbia, Kosovo ja Albaania kõik soovivad ELiga liituda, kõigi liikmelisus võib tähendada, et ELi kiirreageerimisjõud (või Nato liikmesriigid) peavad panema relvaüksusi välja, et kaitsta liikmesriike üksteise eest.
Serbiale mõeldes, milleks ELile veel üks riik nagu Ungari. EL muutub - konsensusliku otsustamise asendab häälte enamus selleks, et liit oleks üldse veel otsustusvõimeline. Üldiselt ei hullu, aga minu arvates on see tohutult teine EL, ja kardetavasti kehvem (süvenevate eri leeridega ja "mitmekiiruseline"). See oleks vesi ka nende veskile, kelle huvides on "mida halvem, seda parem" EL.

Arvan, et Serbias saadakse aru küll, et ELi neil naljalt asja pole. Liiga palju järeleandmisi tuleks teha ja suveräänsust võetaks vähemaks. Ja teisalt ei taha ka ELis keegi sellist olukorda nagu Kreeka-Türgi suhe NATOs. Kujutab keegi ette, kuidas Balkanil toimiks piirivaba tsoon ja samad regulatsioonid nende pingete ja arusaamade juures, mis neil aastakümneid olnud? Teine asi, mis serblaste kalkulatsioon on? Kas veidi relva täristada ja saada majanduslikke järelandmiseid, sest peale USA pole kellegil suuri ressursse, et rahusõda pidada? Kindlasti ka Moskva seal utsitaks. Või teha kodupublikule show-d.

See põhimõte rahvuse järgi piiri seada muudaks nii mõnegi teise riigi piiri, kasvõi meie oma.
Ma saan su repliigist ilmselt õigesti aru, et Kosovo iseseisvumine oli küsimärkidega lugu.
