Narva, Auvere (march-april 1944) - RI 410

Sorry for this post being in German/English but I don’t understand Estonian (trying it using Google’s traduction tool).

Mein Onkel war ein Grenadier der 10. Kompanie, III. Battallion, Infanterie Regiment 410, 122 Division Infanterie der Wehrmacht.
Zwischen Januar 1944 und Marz 1944 hat er zu Abwehrkampfe bei Nevel, Polozk, Witebsk und Narva teilgenommen.
Er wurde am 6. April 1944 sudlich vom Bahnhof in Auvere durch Artillerieschoss-Splitter verwundet, dann abgegeben an einem Hauptverbandsplatz, und am 8. April nach dem Kriegslazarett in Rakvere motorisiert. Er ist am 13. April 1944 gestorben und liegt auf dem Ehrenfriedhof II in Rakvere.

Ich habe mit viele interesse die Tagesmeldungen vom Armeeabteilung Narwa auf diesem forum gelesen.

Mein Onkel ist bei der so-genannte 6. April „Operation Strachwitz II“ gefallen.
Ich habe das Buch von Otto Carius, Tigers in the mud (Fedorowicz ed, ISBN 978-0-8117-2911-6) über die Kämpfe in dem „Ostsack“, und das Buch „Panzerkampfgruppe Strachwitz, a photographic study of the battles for the Ostsack and Westsack“, bei M.H. Pruett (ISBN 978-0-921991-93-9) gelesen.

In das Buch „Tigers in the mud“ gibt es eine sehr detaillierte Karte, aber das Bahnhof von Auvere steht nicht darauf, und ich frage mich wo es liegen konnte.
Also auf eine Karte scheint Lembitu nordlich vom Zugbahn zu liegen, und auf eine andere Karte südlich vom Zugbahn.

Ich bin auf der Suche nach Information, Dokument, Photo, Karte … :
- uber dieser Schlacht vom 6. April und die Lage (Auvere Bahnhof und süd),
- uber dem Kriegslazarett in Rakvere,
- uber die Kampfe der Infanterie Regiment 410 (122 ID) in Nevel, Polozk-Witebsk und Narva zwischen Januar und Marz 1944.

I am looking for any information, document, photo, map ... in relation with :
- operation Strachwitz II, battle of April 6th, 1944 in the battlefield located southly from the station of Auvere,
- the german military hospital in Rakvere,
- the engagements of the 410th infanterie regiment (122 ID) in Nevel, Polozk-Witebsk and Narva between January and March 1944.

Organization of XXXXIII.A.K. is published, according to it III./G.R.410 belonged on 3.April to Panzerverband Graf v. Strachwitz:

Most probably it was with Strachwitz also on 6th.

I have updated 6th and 7th April with more information about XXXXIII.Armeekorps.
The problem is that war diary contains multiple references to II./410, but according to Kriegsgliederung of 122.I.D. from 1st of April every infantry regiment had only 2 battalions: 409 and 411 with I. and II., 410 with I. and III.

Do You have the book about 122.I.D.: Helmut Weber - 122. Infanterie Division: Erinnerungen der pommersch mecklenburgischen Greif-Division.

If you have already some results then members of this form will read them with interest

By the way, seems that on the panzer lexikon forum some members have also access to the war diary: http://forum.panzer-archiv.de/viewtopic.php?t=5573 Fred, Jan-Hendrik and PKJ. Maybe the can help with veterans or excerpts from Weber's book / possible articles in periodicals ?

Very interesting post! Ive been researching the Battle for Narwa for a few years, and have in my Archive quite some information: periodicals, articles and KTB for Armee-Abt. "Narwa" etc. I will try to see If I can find any information about the III./410, 122.ID and 6/4 1944 for you.
