PKP PLK informed about the situation on the railway network. 19 out of 33 local control centers with Alstom (former Bombardier) equipment are not operational. In practice, this means significant difficulties and cancellation of trains throughout the country. The problem concerns about 820 km of the line. The manager does not rule out a cyber attack.
Adamczyk: failures not only in Poland
At 10:40 am, the minister of infrastructure, Andrzej Adamczyk, said that identical faults of electronic traffic control systems on the railway network, supplied by Alstom / Bombardier, occurred at night in India, Singapore and probably Pakistan. - The cause is still the subject of the findings of PKP PLK, which is constantly working on minimizing the effects of the failure, which affected about 80% of rail traffic in Poland - said the head of the ministry.

Global failure of control systems
The first information about the failure appeared in the morning on Thursday (March 17). In the first announcement, PKP PLK informed that "a dozen LCS" were not operating and that it was about to start activities that would lead to the restoration of railway traffic. At the same time, she emphasized that the most important thing now is to ensure safety and inform travelers about the situation.
According to the information provided by the Ministry of Infrastructure, the failure affected 820 km of railway lines.
