Hanerasvast vähe abi, mul õnnestus see täiskasvanuna läbi põdeda (sain Soome reisil bändiga tuuritades kusagilt hostelist selle ilmselt) 2017 aastal ja see oli päris kohutav kogemus. Sain õnneks seejärel suht kiiresti tasulisele nahaarstile (Kotka Tervisemajja) ja seal oli hästi pädev arst kes kohe kaugelt nägi ära millega tegu. NB! See nakkab ka täiskasvanutele, kui lapseeas või noorema on läbi põdemata.
Arst eriti ei lohutanud, sest ravi tõesti puudub ja ainuke variant läbi põdeda, ning üllatunud oli ta et ma valuvaigistite peale polnud tulnud selle vea parandasin siis järgnevatel päevadel. Lisaks kirjutas ta välja mingi kreemi, mis natuke lõhenenud haavu leevendas. Lisaks villikesi täis nahale läksid mul ka sõrmeküüned katki nagu oleks valge verevalum all olnud neil, tükk aega kasvas see jama välja mul. Valu kadus kusagil pooleteise nädala möödudes (haiguslehel) kui olin läbi põdenud selle korralikult, seejärel paranesid pindmised haavad ja kõige hiljem küüned (sõrmeküünte kasv suht aeganõudev)

ICU Hospitalized human bird flu case in Canada now officially confirmed as H5N1. Worse, it is the same 2.3.4.4b virus clade (variant group) as the one found in BC poultry and in Washington state! The hospitalized teenager (with no pre existing conditions) had no animal contact, does not live on farm, had “deterioration quite rapid” and now critical in ICU with ARDS. Canada officials says infectious period is 2 days **prior to symptoms** (ie asymptomatic transmission) and infectious up to 10 days.

Since October 24, 2024, a disease of still unknown origin has been spreading in Kwango province, specifically in the Panzi health zone. To date, this disease has caused the death of 79 people, most of whom are children over 15 years old, and has affected 376 individuals.

The reported symptoms among patients include:
• Fever
• Headache
• Nasal discharge and cough
• Difficulty breathing
• Anemia

The Ministry of Public Health, Hygiene, and Social Welfare expresses its deep sympathy to the families affected by this tragedy and offers them its sincerest condolences.

To provide a rapid and effective response to this concerning situation, the Ministry, through the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) and the Public Health Emergency Operations Center (COUSP), has dispatched a rapid response team to the affected area. The mission of this team is to:

1. Ensure immediate care for reported cases.
2. Collect samples from patients for laboratory analysis.
3. Conduct in-depth investigations in the field to identify the nature of this disease.

The results of laboratory analyses will be communicated as soon as they are available, and regular updates will be shared with the public and partners.

While awaiting the conclusions of the ongoing investigations, the Ministry urges the population to remain calm, stay vigilant, and strictly adhere to the following preventive measures:

1. Avoid mass gatherings.
2. Report any suspected cases or unusual deaths to local health authorities.
3. Observe basic hygiene rules, including regular handwashing with soap and water.
4. Do not handle deceased bodies without the intervention of authorized health personnel.

On 23 November 2024, the United States reported a confirmed human case of avian influenza
A(H5) virus infection for which the source of exposure was unknown (12). The case was a
minor residing in the state of California who had no comorbidities and no history of travel. The
case had onset of symptoms on 11 November 2024, with nasal congestion, sore throat,
cough, and fatigue. The case received medical attention at an emergency center on 12
November 2024, at which time a nasopharyngeal swab specimen was collected for
laboratory analysis. On 13 November 2024, the specimen yielded positive results for influenza
A by an influenza/VRS/SARS-CoV-2 rapid PCR test and the case was treated with oseltamivir
(8). The case did not require hospitalization and is recovering from their illness. According to
available information, the case had not had any contact with animals infected with influenza
A(H5N1) virus within the 10 days prior to the onset of symptoms. Investigation of possible
sources of exposure is ongoing (8).

Three Dead, Several in Critical Condition Following Mysterious Disease Outbreak at Nigerian Military School in Zaria, Nigeria

A mysterious illness has claimed the lives of at least three students at the Nigerian Military School (NMS) in Zaria, Kaduna State. Officers and parents have been seen in large numbers at the school following the outbreak, with many rushing to withdraw their children.

The first student died at around 10:00 AM on Friday from unknown causes, with two more fatalities reported since. Several other students are in critical condition and have been hospitalized at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH).

A parent shared, "Our children are no longer safe. The army must tell us what’s killing them." The cause of the illness is still under investigation.

Brigadier General AD Audu, Commandant of NMS, confirmed the outbreak, stating that initial test results indicated cardiovascular issues in the first deceased student, though further investigations are ongoing.
