Former British fighter pilots are training the Chinese to shoot down Western aircraft, officials warned last night.

Up to 30 pilots have recently moved to China after securing £250,000-a-year contracts to teach Western flying procedures, it was revealed.

Due to legal loopholes, there is nothing the Armed Forces can do to prevent the Beijing brain drain – a potential threat to national security in which Chinese pilots could be given a lethal advantage in any future conflict.

Croatia’s parliament has voted to reinstate mandatory military service by year’s end. The service will last two months, with about 4,000 conscripts called up annually, the Defense Ministry said.

The Croatian Parliament has approved amendments to the Defence Act, officially reintroducing compulsory military service with 84 votes in favor, 30 abstentions, and 11 against.

The new Basic Military Training (TVO) program will last 2 months, with the first call-ups expected by the end of the year. Recruits will begin training in #Knin, #Slunj, and #Požega in early 2026.

According to the Croatian Ministry of Defence, around 4,000 conscripts will be called annually, divided into 5 training cycles, marking Croatia’s most significant military policy shift in years.
